Stolen Guitar in England Prompts Price Questions.
A guitar valued at around six-thousand dollars has been making
the news since it was recently stolen in England. At six-thousand
dollars it is by no means considered expensive, but to most of
us the idea of spending six-thousand dollars on a guitar seems
ridiculous. So what is it you are getting for six-thousand dollars?
Will you play better? Maybe a little. Does it sound better? Yes,
and if you put it side by side with a guitar half the price you
might even notice the difference. Here is the deal. With a more
expensive guitar you are going to get a better more even tone,
slightly more volume, and it might even be a little easier to
play. Is that worth six-thousand? Hmmmm.
Tales from the Gig -Part II
It's been a wild summer and an even wilder fall. It all started
with the day I showed up to the gig with no music, bringing my
improvisation abilities to new heights. It continued with showing
up to the wrong hotel, but at the right time. And perhaps culminated
with a brief meeting and photo session with a man who could have
been Andres Segovia's double. As a musician you never know what
to expect.
